West Brom have been handed a lift for the season finale, with Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Svante Inglesson ruled out of Saturday’s clash.

Manager Henrik Pedersen said: “No, he will not be available. But he will be fit in the next two or three weeks so he can do all what he has to do in the pre-season.” He told the Sheffield Star.

The 27-year-old Swede has missed recent matches with a knee problem and had been a late hope for the finale. He has now played his last game for the Owls and looks likely to move on this summer.

James Morrison’s men are unbeaten in 10 and aiming for 11. Baggies fans are set to be in party mode after securing survival, with a sell-out expected.

Wednesday have been on minus points for much of the season after going into administration, and hope to give their fans something to cheer ahead of relegation to League One.

Inglesson this week shared Wednesday’s player of the year award with Liam Palmer, who received an outstanding achievement honour for making over 500 appearances for the club. The Owls boss added: “Svante and Liam have been two fantastic humans in our group through the whole season. They have been two players who really have made standards for what is okay, what is not okay, and also when things are difficult.”
