The CBF has released only the audio of the VAR review that downgraded Edson Carioca’s red card to yellow in Corinthians’ 2-1 defeat at Mirassol. According to Meu Timao, no other contentious incidents were published.
By policy, the federation shares audio only from incidents that prompt an on-field review, with other clips reserved for weekly club briefings.
Mirassol led after 23 minutes with a penalty against Matheus Bidu for a foul on Carlos Eduardo, then Edson Carioca made it 2-0 at 33. Corinthians protested a challenge by Shaylon on Rodrigo Garro before that second goal, and later Edson’s foul on Matheus Pereira led to the rescinded dismissal.
Referee Matheus Delgado Candançan initially showed red, saying the tackle came from behind, trapped Pereira’s leg and was not a play on the ball. VAR Marcio Henrique de Gois later said the main contact was lateral and with the knee, and that the force was insufficient for dismissal.
After checking the monitor, Candançan ruled there was no studs contact, deemed it reckless and changed red to yellow.
Afterwards, executive Marcelo Paz argued Corinthians are being repeatedly harmed and questioned consistency. Coach Fernando Diniz called the officiating very poor, complained about delays and felt time-wasting was not curbed.
Allan’s booking was his third, so he is suspended for São Paulo at 18:30 on Sunday at Neo Química Arena.
Corinthians face Independiente Santa Fe at 21:30 on Wednesday at Estadio El Campín in Libertadores Group E.
