Wrexham ‘closing in on’ £5 million Danny Imray deal as Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney back summer moves | OneFootball

Wrexham are close to their first summer signing, with Crystal Palace right-back Danny Imray set to join in a £5 million deal. The Telegraph reports that the 23-year-old is expected to be omitted from Palace’s Como Cup squad in Italy this week as talks progress.

Imray has spent the past two seasons out on loan, featuring for Bromley in League Two then for Blackpool and West Bromwich Albion last term. He made 17 appearances for the Baggies and helped them avoid Championship relegation.

He would bolster a side pushing for the Premier League after narrowly missing the play-offs last season.

"You bring the players in different stages of pre-season. Some deals take longer than others, people moving into the area and it took us a while to find our feet in the division and also, I had players adapting to that." Parkinson told talkSPORT.

"However, I don't feel we're there yet in terms of the squad. We're not resting on our laurels and thinking we're seventh and we're just going to naturally progress above that."

Wrexham are in the market for a goalkeeper, with Sunderland’s Anthony Patterson linked and a £7 million bid reported. Everton keeper Mark Travers is also of interest, with an £8 million release clause.

Leicester defender Harry Souttar is another target, with the Australia international seeking a move after relegation and the Foxes valuing him at £10 million. Co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have reportedly backed a club-record offer for free agent Bamba Dieng.
