Andreas Schjelderup is looking to leave Benfica this winter and has a verbal agreement with Club Brugge, Record reports.
The agreement concerns personal terms, but Benfica’s SAD still need persuading to release the winger. The report adds the offer on the table does not appear to appeal to Rui Costa.
Brugge are said to have submitted a concrete bid of €8m fixed, rising to €11m depending on add-ons being met.
Despite recent starts against Rio Ave and Juventus, Schjelderup does not plan to remain at the Estádio da Luz, seeking a fresh direction and a possible World Cup call-up. Not being a first-choice option under José Mourinho is viewed as decisive in his thinking.
This season Schjelderup has made 24 appearances for Benfica, 12 in Liga Portugal Betclic, seven in the Champions League, four in the Taça de Portugal and one in the Taça da Liga, totalling 1,116 minutes. He has scored two goals and provided three assists. He is valued at €14m.
