Club Brugge willing to spend €10m on Benfica winger | OneFootball

HLN are reporting that Club Brugge are willing to give Benfica €10m to sign winger Andreas Schjelderup. The Belgian side are set to bring in former Cercle Brugge midfielder Felix Lemaréchal and clearly want to strengthen out wide as well. However, Benfica had hoped to get closer to €15m for Schjelderup. The fee Club Brugge are willing to send to Benfica is more than they would usually spend on a player, yet the money is certainly there after they sold Ardon Jashari for a substantial fee last summer and Kaye Furo this winter.

Benfica’s Schjelderup joined the side in 2023 from Danish club Nordsjaelland. In a handful of seasons with the side he had played 56 times and scored 17 goals. Benfica then loaned him back to the club for the 2023/2024 season, in which he scored another 10 goals in 38 games. Since his return to Benfica, the 21-year-old has played 64 games, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists. This season he has started six of his 12 appearances for Benfica in the Liga Portugal, with two starts out of four appearances in the Champions League.
