With his contract at Bayern Munich set to expire in the summer of 2026, Dayot Upamecano faces a difficult decision: will he commit to a new deal with the German champions or seek a fresh challenge elsewhere?
According to Bild’s Bayern Insider podcast, Upamecano has narrowed his list of suitors to just three clubs: Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
While FC Barcelona, Inter, Liverpool, and Chelsea have also been linked with the French defender, they now appear to be out of the running.
French outlet Foot Mercato has previously claimed that Upamecano has already agreed on personal terms with Real Madrid.
Bayern, however, have repeatedly underlined that they remain optimistic about agreeing a new deal with the 27-year-old.
“We are in good discussions, we have our plan,” Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund said on Friday morning regarding the expiring contracts.
“We know which contracts are expiring. Another transfer phase is about to start. It doesn’t make us nervous; we’re in good dialogue with our lads.”
