Boro sweep aside Queens Park Rangers to stay second

Middlesbrough beat Queens Park Rangers 4-0 at Loftus Road to stay second in the Championship.
In the 20th minute, David Strelec turned in from close range after Morgan Whittaker's work to set Boro on their way.
Luke Ayling struck the bar following a corner (67.), and moments later Alan Browne glanced in from the set piece (68.).
After the introduction of Tommy Conway, the substitute teed up Hayden Hackney to sweep in a third (72.). Conway then won a penalty when Tylon Smith fouled him (87.). The forward converted from the spot (88.).
Sol Brynn made three saves as Boro controlled the game, posting 69.4% possession with 16 attempts and seven on target. The hosts struck the post late through Harvey Vale.
Next, Queens Park Rangers visit Birmingham. Boro host Charlton Athletic.
