“I’ve recovered my smile”… Lamine Yamal reveals recent emotional problems after scoring a hat-trick in Barcelona vs Villarreal | OneFootball

The winger Lamine Yamal was definitely the hero as FC Barcelona beat Villarreal 4-1 in their last La Liga game. The forward scored a hat-trick in this game, and impressed with his overall performance beyond the goals as well.

He also took the Man of the Match award, and as SPORT has reported, made some interesting comments as he talked to the media after the game.

Talking about his second goal, the Spaniard commented:

“We had to stay calm because I’m the one who decides where I’m going. First it was with Cardona and then Moleiro, who almost took it away from me, but the shot went in. The beauty of the strike? One had to go in eventually.”

The youngster also commented on how he is improving his finishing gradually:

“Every time I see the goal more clearly. Some people want me to score 100 goals at 16. I’d like that too, but it’s not possible.”

Yamal also opened up on how his mood has changed over the last few days:

“Yes, but back then it was a mix of everything. I wasn’t feeling well, I wasn’t happy, it was a mix of many things. For the past week I’ve been happy playing, I’ve recovered my smile.”

The forward was very happy with this win, and also looking forward to overturning the tie against Atletico Madrid in Copa del Rey:

“Very happy for today’s victory. I’m not sure if the second goal is one of the best… I try to enjoy playing at this club, in this stadium. I try to enjoy it, and when I have matches like this it makes me enjoy it even more. When they substituted me, I was looking at my mother… this is the club of my life and I’m very happy. Against Atlético, anything is possible, we’ll give everything… the comeback is possible.”

Lamine Yamal would certainly have to take a lot of responsibility if Barcelona are to overturn their 4-0 deficit against Atletico Madrid. Hopefully, he will put in another such performance to help the Blaugrana team make its way to the final.
