According to Meu Timao, Corinthians have loaned João Pedro Tchoca to Torino until June, a move that could see him become the club’s fourth biggest centre-back sale.
The club will receive one and a half million euros for the loan. Torino hold an option to buy for a further four and a half million, plus up to one million in bonuses, taking the package to seven million euros, around R$ 43.8 million at current rates.
At seven million euros he would rank fourth among centre-backs sold in euros. In reais, inflation updates using the IGP-M place him fifth, since euro and real tables diverge due to differing inflation and exchange moves.
Other euro sales include Murillo on 12 million euros, Gil on 10 million, João Victor on eight million, Felipe and Marquinhos on six million, then Leandro Castán on 5.5 million and Fábio Luciano on 5.2 million, a six million dollar move to Fenerbahçe of Türkiye. Only 400,000 from that deal reached Corinthians because Hicks Muse controlled his rights.
João Pedro’s structure mirrors Marquinhos’ loan plus purchase, though Corinthians own 75% of Tchoca’s rights compared with 100% of Marquinhos.
With João Pedro gone, Dorival Júnior’s centre-back options are André Ramalho, Cacá, Gabriel Paulista and Gustavo Henrique, with academy cover. He has said Corinthians will seek a replacement in the market. The team now prepare to face Bahia on Wednesday night in their Brasileirão opener at Vila Belmiro.
