Goalkeeper João Ricardo has resumed ball work at Fortaleza, sharing footage of his drills on social media, while his proposed move to Corinthians remains tied to his recovery. He is still in physical transition and not yet available.
According to Meu Timao, an agreement was reached in January and the expectation had been for a March unveiling once rehabilitation is complete. The club are waiting for full recovery after right-shoulder surgery in October, with a final signature dependent on medical clearance.
Corinthians identified him to add experience as understudy to Hugo Souza, with other options largely academy products. He previously worked under Dorival Júnior at Ceará in 2022, and the head coach had signalled the need for a new deputy.
For now, Felipe Longo is the immediate back-up to Hugo Souza. Matheus Donelli has been loaned to the United Arab Emirates and Kauê is the third choice.
This window, Corinthians have confirmed Gabriel Paulista, full-backs Pedro Milans and Fabrizio Angileri, midfielders Matheus Pereira and Allan, and forward Kaio César. The club also have a deal for Moroccan midfielder Zakaria Labyad in the works.
