João Ricardo posts ball work at Fortaleza amid Corinthians agreement

According to Globo.com, João Ricardo has an agreement in place with Corinthians and has posted a video on social media working with the ball at Fortaleza. The 37-year-old is undergoing specific transition work and is not yet available to play.

He is expected to be cleared to play in March, when he is due to link up with Corinthians. In his absence, Brenno is Fortaleza’s first-choice goalkeeper.

João Ricardo has not featured since September 2025, having undergone surgery following a shoulder tendon injury.

He has been at Fortaleza since 2023 and has made 154 appearances. Considered an important figure, he suffered his injury late last season as the club were relegated to Série B.

Remaining at Fortaleza in 2026 became unviable, so he negotiated with Corinthians. Corinthians’ director of football is Marcelo Paz, who previously served as CEO of Fortaleza’s SAF.
