Barcelona starlet Lamine Yamal has added another major milestone to his rapidly growing career after receiving the prestigious Di Stefano Award from the director of MARCA.
The honour recognises the best player of the season, and the teenager stood out above some of the biggest names in world football.
Despite facing competition from high-profile figures such as Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr., Pedri and Raphinha, the young winger took the prize.
At just 18 years of age, Yamal is already assembling a list of accolades that many players never achieve across an entire career.
After accepting the award, he spoke about the significance of the moment while placing the spotlight firmly on the team.
“All the individual titles indicate that it has been a great season for the team. For me, it is a source of happiness and pride.
“Accumulating awards at my age is something very positive. I’m going to keep working and fighting to achieve things like this,” he explained.
Attention soon turned to what lies ahead – most notably Barcelona’s long-awaited return to Spotify Camp Nou after their temporary stay at Montjuic.
Yamal did not hide how much it means to him and the squad to finally go home. Speaking about that emotional shift, he admitted,
“The fans mean a lot. We’ve been playing at a ground that wasn’t ours. Montjuïc was fine, but it wasn’t what we wanted.
“Camp Nou will be a huge support for everyone and will add a lot to the rest of the season.”
The teenager’s ambition continues to define him just as much as his talent.
Asked about his goals, he did not hesitate to dream big, framing his ambition in the clearest possible terms.
“La Liga, Champions League, World Cup or Ballon d’Or? I want it all. Hopefully, I’ll get it all, and as long as we can play, it’s possible to achieve it.”
The Di Stefano Award now joins a growing collection that highlights Yamal’s rise as one of Barcelona’s brightest hopes.
