Leon Bailey’s move to the capital has already been dismissed as a dull moment in Roma’s season.
It lasted just a few months, severely impacted by a series of injuries that limited his playing time and by performances that never fully convinced the club.
The separation, which occurred during the last transfer window, allowed the club to decisively focus on Bryan Zaragoza: a move that is paying off for Massara, as the Spaniard has immediately proven himself physically fit and decisive on the pitch, as evidenced by his assist for Malen’s goal at the Maradona stadium.
Despite not yet finding his way back to scoring in the Premier League, Bailey has publicly expressed his satisfaction at returning to England, emphasizing his deep connection with the club and with manager Unai Emery.
Speaking on Aston Villa’s official channels, the player commented on his return: “I’m happy to be back. When I left, I missed everything about Aston Villa. I missed Emery too. He’s the best coach I’ve ever had.”
