Lucas Paquetá touched down in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday morning to complete his return to Flamengo, telling supporters he was thrilled to be home and determined to make them happy.
According to Coluna Do Fla, his flight landed in Brazil at around 11:00 Brasília time, after he left England by private jet with his family on Wednesday once the deal was finalised.
Flamengo’s offer to West Ham rose on Wednesday from 41 million euros, R$ 254 million, to 42 million euros, R$ 260 million, which the English club accepted for an immediate release.
The payment will see 15.250 million euros, about R$ 94.545, paid up front, with the remaining 26,75 million euros, or R$ 165,84 million, split into four instalments through 2028.
Flamengo’s football director José Boto had to show patience as West Ham reduced their demands. The club also persuaded them to allow an immediate move after initial talks over a loan until season’s end.
Paquetá is due at Ninho do Urubu on Thursday for medicals before signing a five-year contract. The expectation is to have him available on Sunday 01 for the Supercopa do Brasil against Corinthians, pending registration in the CBF’s BID.
