According to Le Progres, under UEFA regulations, if the Champions League and Europa League winners are already qualified via their leagues, the Ligue 1 side finishing fourth would not be exempt from qualifying rounds.
Lyon slipped to fourth on Sunday after losing at Toulouse. They still control their push for next season’s Champions League but must not fall to fifth on the final day.

If OL hold fourth, they would enter the third qualifying round in July, then a decisive play-off, both over two legs.
Direct entry to the group stage would therefore not apply to fourth under these conditions.
A number of Lyon supporters on X have voiced uncertainty over the scenario.
