West Ham fans have turned on Lucas Paquetá, pushing the hashtag #paquetaout as a Flamengo move nears. According to Coluna Do Fla, the Brazilian’s signing is considered a matter of time and many supporters want the relationship ended.

On social media, supporters complained he had not congratulated the team after recent wins, claimed he is mentally detached, and urged the hierarchy to sell. Others argued West Ham look better without him and criticised him for liking posts from former team-mates.

Paquetá has missed the last three Premier League matches with back pain, and West Ham won all three, a version that has not convinced many in Britain. The Hammers remain in the relegation zone, so the points have been vital.

Some fans view Paquetá as a traitor after he asked to be allowed to join Flamengo during the relegation fight. They also say they stood by him while accusations relating to betting were investigated.

Flamengo, West Ham and Paquetá already have an agreement in place, with only minor details over instalments to finalise, for a fee of 41 million euros, R$ 257 million, and a five-year contract. If all goes smoothly on Tuesday 27, Flamengo hope to have him available for the Supercopa do Brasil on Sunday one at Estádio Mané Garrincha in Brasília.
