Coventry City owner Doug King should not be worried by the fact that Crystal Palace have eyed a move for boss Frank Lampard.
Coventry City owner Doug King should not be worried by the fact that Premier League outfit Crystal Palace have identified Frank Lampard as a managerial target, despite the fact that his departure would be an undoubted blow for the Championship title hopefuls.
The Sky Blues took another step towards the top flight on Tuesday when they defeated Millwall 2-1 thanks to goals from Romain Esse and Haji Wright, either side of Mihailo Ivanovic's equaliser for the Lions.
Lampard's men remain eight points clear of second-place Ipswich Town, albeit the Tractor Boys have a game in hand, while they extended their winning run with a 2-0 triumph over Bristol City.
Coventry can strengthen their Championship title credentials once again this Monday, if they get the better of Norwich City, who will be in a buoyant mood following their 5-0 win over West Brom.

Palace already know they need a new boss ahead of next season, as Oliver Glasner is set to leave the South London side when his contract expires.
Meanwhile, the Austrian told BBC Sport following the Eagles' defeat to Sunderland on Saturday that he felt 'abandoned', as he directed clear criticism at the board.
Therefore, Glasner could even leave Selhurst Park before the end of the season, leaving them in need of a new manager in the near future.
Palace have identified Lampard as a managerial target as they begin planning for life without Glasner, who won the FA Cup and took them to Europe in the process.
However, Coventry owner King should not be worried by the prospect of Lampard joining the Eagles, as he appears unlikely to leave a club who are on track to win the Championship title with 18 games remaining.
Furthermore, if the former Chelsea boss steers the Sky Blues to promotion, he should be eager to continue his journey with the CBS Arena club into the Premier League.
At present, the only way Lampard leaving Coventry would be a realistic prospect is if he fails to win promotion with his side, which would require a series of major slip-ups, allowing both Ipswich and Middlesbrough to overtake them. That, however, would feel unlikely at this moment in time, and if Lampard were to fail in taking Coventry back to the Premier League, then you would imagine that Palace may look elsewhere.
The Sky Blues have further strengthened their chances of promotion by signing both Yang Min-Hyeok and Esse on loan from Premier League clubs, while the latter has already shown his class at the CBS Arena by scoring against Millwall.

Lampard has already endured a long journey with Coventry, who sat 17th in the Championship table when they sacked popular former boss Mark Robins in November 2024.
The ex-Everton boss steered the West Midlands side from the lower reaches of the second tier to last season's play-offs, where they were dramatically beaten by eventual promotion winners Sunderland.
Lampard has successfully enabled Coventry to bounce back from last season's heartache and establish themselves as the best team in the Championship, which is why he will be keen to continue that momentum rather than joining Palace.
Meanwhile, the Englishman previously struggled in the Premier League when in charge of Everton, and his second stint as Chelsea boss was similarly underwhelming.
