Wolves cancelled a training session on Monday after striker Tolu Arokodare refused to leave the first-team group.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, extra security staff were drafted in to prevent a repeat, and Arokodare will not feature in Wednesday’s friendly at Maidenhead United.

It is understood the 25-year-old is not banned from the training ground, though his exit appears increasingly likely to be acrimonious, creating an unwanted headache for new boss Cesar Peixoto.

Arokodare did not initially travel to last week’s warm weather camp in Portugal, receiving a late call-up after fellow forward Adam Armstrong was injured.

Signed from Genk for £24million last summer, he scored three Premier League goals as Wolves were relegated. In April he faced disciplinary action after a dressing-room bust-up with team-mate Mateus Mane during a 4-0 defeat at West Ham, in which he was the sole aggressor. Wolves recently accepted a loan offer from Trabzonspor, but the player turned it down.
