2 more Arsenal players called up late by England youth teams

Two Arsenal youngsters have received late England youth call-ups, with the first youth internationals of the break kicking off on Wednesday.

Arsenal’s list of England youth call-ups has received yet another update, with Khari Ranson and Andre Harriman-Annous both added to the England u20 squad.

England have confirmed that Ranson and Harriman-Annous will replace Finlay Herrick and Jimmy-Jay Morgan respectively, with the West Ham and West Brom youngsters both picking up injuries.

Arsenal had initially had eight players called up for England youth duty, but that number was reduced to seven after Marli Salmon was forced to pull out due to injury.

Yet with Ranson and Harriman-Annous now involved, the total is back up to nine.

The first of Arsenal’s England youngsters was in action on Wednesday, with Charlie Phillips playing for the u17s against the Republic of Ireland.

It was generally a very good game for England, who thrashed their friendly opponents 5-1. Phillips will just be disappointed to have conceded a curling effort in the 90th minute to deny him a clean sheet.

Arsenal duo Mylo Bernard and Vincent Joseph were called up by the England u17s as well, but neither of them were involved in the Ireland match. With a 28-player squad, it’s likely there will be significant rotation between fixtures.
