Good news from FC Bayern: Jamal Musiala is back in team training. The star forward took to the field with his teammates for the first time on Thursday, taking another important step toward returning to competitive action.
For Musiala, returning to team training is a significant milestone. After the difficult weeks he’s been through, the 23-year-old continues to work toward his comeback. FC Bayern is taking a cautious approach and wants to give the national team player the time he needs.
Just on Thursday, Vincent Kompany spoke about the condition of his star attacker at the press conference ahead of the Bundesliga opener against VfB Stuttgart. The Bayern coach confirmed at the time that Musiala would once again be participating in parts of team training.
“Basically, Jamal is doing relatively well. He’s participating in team training today,” Kompany explained.
At the same time, the Belgian made it clear that an immediate return to the matchday roster is not yet planned: “He won’t be on the roster tomorrow,” Kompany said, referring to the match against VfB Stuttgart.
Musiala is currently still going through a period of adjustment. Following recent incidents, his medication has been adjusted. Now his body needs to get used to the new dosage.
“He’s getting used to the increased dosage,” Kompany explained. The decision regarding the timing of his return will therefore continue to be made in consultation with the treating experts.
“We’re making the decision hand in hand with the experts. He’s doing well,” emphasized the Bayern coach.
Kompany did not give a specific date for his comeback. “He’ll be back in the squad at some point,” the Bayern coach simply stated.
With his return to team training, at least one more important milestone has now been reached. Musiala can once again train alongside his teammates and gradually be brought back up to full intensity.
For FC Bayern, the exact timing of his return is still not the main focus. What matters most is that Musiala makes a full recovery and can be gradually reintroduced to competitive play.
