Aaron Ramsey is expected to become Oxford United manager after their relegation to League One, according to The Athletic, and he has already met the club’s board.

The former Wales international retired in April. He won 86 caps with 21 goals and made 369 appearances for Arsenal, also playing for Juventus and Nice.

This would be his second stint leading a first team. He served as player-manager at Cardiff City for the final three matches of the 2024-25 season.

Cardiff were relegated to League One despite two draws and a win in that run.

His first game in charge of the Welsh club came against Oxford United.
