Abel Ferreira has warned Manchester City that only Allan Elias’ release clause will secure the Palmeiras winger this summer.
ESPN Brazil reports that Palmeiras rejected an opening offer of €25 million plus €5 million in add-ons, as Enzo Maresca reshapes his attack after recent departures.
Allan, 22, has nine goals and 12 assists in 96 appearances, and is seen as a leading option to replace Tottenham-bound Savinho.
Speaking after a Brasileirao win over Vasco, Ferreira said: “These teams want players like Allan because he does what 90% of the wingers here cannot do: attack and defend down the flank for 90 minutes. If they want this type of player, they will have to pay 100 million euros.”
He added that European clubs value wide players who can track back for the full match, fill in at right-back as against Miami, step into a back three and move inside with Giay, noting such profiles must be developed and that setbacks can happen.
The Portuguese coach conceded it may be difficult to keep Allan amid European interest, saying Palmeiras would lose quality but not competitiveness if he departs, and stressing the player remains theirs for now.
Palmeiras host Santos in the first leg of their Copa do Brasil quarter-final on 26 August, then visit Mirassol in the league four days later before travelling to Vila Belmiro for the return. Resolving Allan’s future is on the agenda before the window shuts.
