Palmeiras named Allan in the starting line-up against Vasco on Sunday as negotiations with Manchester City continue, with the club holding out for €40m.
According to Globo.com, talks began late this week at around €35m, a figure the board will not accept.
Palmeiras would only consider a sale if City formalise a €40m fixed proposal, whether accompanied by bonuses or the retention of a sell-on percentage, which has not yet arrived.
People close to the discussions believe reaching €40m, roughly R$ 240m, remains possible.
Talks advanced over the weekend, but the club are still negotiating terms and are in no rush to sell, hence Allan’s inclusion for the match.
Allan is regarded as a key player under Abel Ferreira, a regular starter with six goals and five assists this season.
