‘Agreement In Principle’ – Leeds United Move Rapidly For Winger, Medical Booked Too | OneFootball

Leeds United now have an ‘agreement in principle’ with Eintracht Frankfurt for the signature of winger Jean-Matteo Bahoya, with matters moving at a rapid pace.

Daniel Farke’s men activated a late deadline day pursuit of the quick Bundesliga winger as they look to get a replacement for Willy Gnonto through the door.

Gnonto is set to sign for Fiorentina on a loan with an option to buy deal, but Leeds have been prepared to collapse it if they do not get Bahoya in as a replacement.

That would be a massive blow for Gnonto, who wants to play in Serie A, something he has never done before in his career.

Luckily for the Italian, it does not appear that will happen as Leeds have moved quickly with Bahoya and are making huge progress.

According to French journalist Santi Aouna, Leeds now have an ‘agreement in principle’ with Eintracht Frankfurt for Bahoya.

They also have agreed terms with the winger and have now booked him in for a medical.

Despite the rapid developments, Leeds will still need to conduct a medical check and arrange the paperwork, which will no small feat against the ticking clock.

And with the transfer window in Italy closing sooner, at 7pm UK time, Leeds could well be in a situation where they authorise Gnonto’s exit, but then hit an issue with Bahoya.

Daniel Farke will be hoping that does not happen and he has Bahoya added to the ranks at Elland Road.

Leeds though still look set to end the transfer window without having brought in another number 9.

They have been urged to do so, amid concerns that Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha may struggle to stay fit throughout the season.

Farke though looks to feel Leeds can cope, at least until January.
