Leeds United are set to sign Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Jean-Mattéo Bahoya after moving decisively for the 21-year-old on deadline day.

According to Sky Germany, Sport Bild and The Athletic, Leeds entered concrete negotiations with Frankfurt on Tuesday, while Fabrizio Romano says an agreement has been reached on a loan containing a mandatory €30m purchase clause.

Two days earlier, another Premier League move collapsed, with Bahoya personally rejecting a switch to Hull City despite a verbal agreement between the clubs.

Frankfurt had remained open to a late departure for the France U21 international. Bahoya joined from Angers SCO in January 2024 for about €8m and is under contract until 2029. He has made 78 competitive appearances for Eintracht, contributing 15 goals and assists.

He needed time to settle after leaving Angers, then grew into one of Eintracht’s more eye-catching young attackers, crediting a French-speaking contingent with helping him on and off the pitch.

His pace became a signature attribute, clocking 37.16 km/h in 2024/25, a Bundesliga record that stood the following season. Interest followed, and Frankfurt were prepared to consider offers close to €30m. Leeds now look ready to match that figure.
