FC Bayern is set to see a somewhat surprising departure just before the transfer window closes. Young attacking player Wisdom Mike is on the verge of a move to Club Brugge. The details of the transfer have now been revealed.
Somewhat surprisingly, Belgian transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri reported on Monday that the Bayern player is reportedly on the verge of a move to Belgium. It is a permanent transfer.
Sky subsequently confirmed this and provided some figures regarding the upcoming deal, which could be officially confirmed shortly.
According to the report, FC Bayern will receive a fixed transfer fee of five million euros for the 17-year-old. Mike, who has already gotten a taste of first-team action, has recently been sidelined with a long-term injury, allowing young players like Maycon Cardozo to increasingly draw attention to themselves.

Often, a club like FC Bayern secures a buyback option in such a deal. However, there has been no mention of that so far. Instead, several bonus payments have been agreed upon, which will be triggered based on appearances and performance. At the Belgian club, Mike is reportedly set to be used immediately as a rotation player for the first team.
This is definitely a step up compared to his role with the record champions. On top of that, Mike will now be playing in a league where young talent is particularly nurtured.
In addition to the bonus payments, FC Bayern has also secured a share of any future resale proceeds. This means that if the attacking player really takes off in Belgium and Club Brugge eventually sells him for a substantial sum, the record champions will benefit and earn even more money than they have so far. At the moment, it doesn’t look as though this deal will fall through, so an announcement confirming its completion is expected shortly.
