Bayern Munich youngster Wisdom Mike is all set to leave the club this summer.

Mike joined Bayern’s academy in 2022 and was regarded as one of the brightest young talents at the club.

The 17-year-old winger made five appearances last season under Vincent Kompany, and many expected him to receive more game time in the upcoming campaign.

Wisdom Mike all set for Bayern Munich exit

Bayern have decided to offload Mike, and a deal has been agreed with Club Brugge.

Christian Falk has told CFBayern Insider that Brugge will pay a fee of around €5m fixed, plus add-ons, for Mike.

According to Sacha Tavolieri, Bayern will not include a buy-back clause in the deal.

The German winger is expected to finalise his move to Brugge within the next 48 hours, where he will sign a five-year contract.

Falk exclusively informed CFBayern that Mike fell asleep in the front row during a team meeting with coach Vincent Kompany last summer.

The reason being Mike had been out too late with a teammate the night before.

While Kompany remained calm and resolved the matter privately, one can imagine he was not too impressed with the player’s attitude.

As a punishment, Mike had to move out of his room at the Bayern Campus for a week and stay in a hotel at his own expense.

His father was also informed. The youngster, however, did very well in training, and the following week, he made his Bundesliga debut against Werder Bremen in September.

Who else could leave Bayern Munich

We have already reported that Bayern Munich have no plans to sign any more players during the summer transfer window.

However, they are looking to offload a few players and have made progress in that respect.

After a long saga, Joao Palhinha is all set to leave the club to join Benfica, while Bryan Zaragoza is also on his way to joining Espanyol.

What remains to be seen is whether Bayern would accept offers for either Hiroki Ito or Kim Min-jae if any clubs come forward with suitable bids during the final week of the transfer window.

It comes as a big shock that Bayern have allowed Mike to depart, especially after making senior appearances last term.

Nevertheless, Bayern are getting a decent fee from the transfer, which they could reinvest elsewhere, if needed.

Moreover, the German champions have a huge pool of attacking talents, even at their academy levels, and Kompany may have bigger plans to use them wisely.
