SALÉ, Morocco – The FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Morocco 2025 continued on Sunday, with Canada taking a 4-1 victory against Nigeria in Group D at the Football Academy Mohammed VI (Pitch 2) in Salé, Morocco.

The Canadians started their goal count in the 2’, with Gabriela Istocki sending a left foot-strike to the bottom right corner for the opening goal.

Queen Joseph tied the game for Nigeria in the 30’ with a left-footed shot in the box to even the game.

Canada retook the advantage in the 73’ thanks to a right-footed shot by Melissa Kekic from the edge of the box.

Julia Amireh extended the Canadian lead in the 80’, taking advantage of a loose ball in the area, and collected her brace in the 86’ to seal the victory.

With the result, Canada begins its campaign as first place in Group D.

Canada will seek to earn three more points against Samoa on Wednesday.
