The 19-year-old Corinthians midfielder André has spoken for the first time about Milan’s approach late last month, saying a move to Europe would be a dream but stressing his focus remains on the club.
According to Globo.com, Milan bid 15 million euros (R$ 91.14 million) for 70% of André’s economic rights held by Corinthians, plus 2 million euros (R$ 12.15 million) in bonuses. The extras were tied to him playing in 20 games for Corinthians, with at least 45 minutes in each, before the calendar pause for the World Cup.
He said he is calm about the situation and that representing Corinthians has been a childhood dream, even as a European move would also be one.
Club president Osmar Stabile blocked the sale at the last minute after negative reaction inside the club and among supporters.
Memphis Depay used social media to oppose a potential sale at the price offered by Milan and praised his team-mate’s talent.
André has four goals and two trophies, the 2025 Copa do Brasil and the 2026 Supercopa do Brasil, from 24 senior appearances for Corinthians. His contract runs to 31 December 2029.
