André struck the decisive goal in the second half as Corinthians beat São Bernardo in the final round of the Paulistão’s first phase.
According to Globo.com, Garro went close from a free-kick after the interval, and goalkeeper Hugo Souza produced an excellent late save to help see it out.
At the back, André Ramalho led with authority and João Pedro was secure in his decisions on the ball. Milans kept things tidy, while Matheus Bidu defended well but offered little going forward.
Allan and Raniele closed spaces, won duels and supported the build-up. Charles pressed to win possession high and contributed to the collective display. Garro’s passing was wasteful.
Vitinho threatened down the flank and merited an assist. Kayke played too many backward passes and Gui Negão lacked accuracy when chances arrived. Yuri Alberto dominated physically in duels but added little in creation.
Late on, Matheuzinho and Gabriel Paulista came off the bench, the latter replacing Yuri Alberto. Head coach Dorival Júnior rotated his squad, resting key players while keeping the starters’ structure intact.
