Angers’ Sidiki Chérif to complete €25m transfer to Fenerbahçe | OneFootball

Fenerbahçe are on the verge of signing Angers SCO prospect Sidiki Chérif (19) for a reported €25m transfer package fee, as reported by Ouest-France. Crystal Palace and Paris FC were interested in signing Chérif, and the Eagles previously seemed to have the player’s preference, but Chérif is now expected to join the Türkish Süper Lig giants. The 19-year-old is expected to land in Istanbul in the coming hours to complete his medical.

Earlier on Saturday, Angers and Fenerbahçe reached an agreement over a loan with a mandatory €22m purchase option, which includes a further €3m in performance-related add-ons. Chérif, who just turned 19, took Ligue 1 by surprise with a 4-goal haul in the first half of the season, making Angers’ top scorer. Les Scoïstes have already secured Chérif’s replacement in signing Lens striker Goduine Koyalipou on loan. Angers SCO host FC Metz on Sunday.
