There has been quite a bit of activity on the transfer market at FC Bayern this summer. Several players, including Alexander Nübel, Noel Aseko, and Joao Palhinha, have been sold. And as the transfer window draws to a close, the roster could be further reduced.
Arijon Ibrahimović is set to leave for FC Augsburg. The attacking player is expected to join the Fuggerstadt club on loan with an option to buy. And suddenly, there are rumors circulating about a defender.
According to a report in the *Merkur*, a departure by Hiroko Ito, the Japanese defender, is no longer considered completely out of the question.
According to the report, the player was reportedly offered to Ajax Amsterdam by his management. Since Ito moved from VfB Stuttgart to Bayern, he has never really been able to establish himself, partly because he broke his metatarsal several times and was sidelined for long periods.

Ito is currently fit, but ranks only fourth among the center backs. Dayot Upamecano, Jonathan Tah, and Minjae Kim are ahead of him. Competition on the left has also intensified since Nathaniel Brown signed with the club this summer.
In the Dutch Eredivisie, the summer transfer window closes on Wednesday, September 2. So there’s still time to finalize a deal with Ajax. But Bayern Munich must weigh this carefully, as further reducing the squad also carries a certain risk.
While Bayern does have some players who are versatile and can play multiple positions, this isn’t always enough with a thin roster. If, for example, two of these versatile players are sidelined, there won’t be enough backup coverage in several positions. That’s something they need to keep in mind in Munich.
