Anton Stach: We want a good start | OneFootball

Anton Stach is entering his second season with Leeds United and having had his first full pre-season with the club, which included games in the US, England and Ireland, the German was pleased with how pre-season went.

Speaking to Premier League productions ahead of facing Nottingham Forest in our season opener this weekend, Stach praised the squad and its chemistry, whilst looking ahead to a challenging game.

“The squad is feeling strong,” our German international began.

“I think we added good players to the squad in particular positions. And yeah, the squad is nearly the same as last year, so the chemistry is still very good.

“The feeling is good. Everybody's in a good mood and ready for the season and we picked up some good results against very good teams in pre-season.

“So yeah, of course, it was exhausting with the traveling, but I think everybody enjoyed it. It was like in a different time zone, in a different country, and this is always a new thing.

“And I like this personally to be sometimes out of here because the next 10 or 11 months we are here working.”

Onto the season opener at the City Ground on Saturday afternoon, having played there before, Stach is expecting another tough encounter.

He said: “Yeah, it will be a tough game in Nottingham. Also the stadium, they will be on fire, 100%, so we want to win.

“They have good players. Every team has good players, but also we need to focus on ourselves. We have our strengths, and I think we can get something out of it.

“We want a good start, that's for sure, and to get the three points straight away. And then we'll see how the game is.

“We need to be ready in our head, also in our legs, and then just be competitive.”
