Algeria faces a crucial test this Tuesday at the Khalifa International Stadium. With four points on the board and a favorable goal difference, a simple draw would be enough for Madjid Bougherra’s men to reach the quarter-finals. But today’s opponent, Iraq, already qualified after two convincing victories, won't be coming just to watch. The Algerian team, impressive against Bahrain (5-1), will be looking to confirm their resurgence. Adam Ounas, suspended for the first two matches, returns and could add another dimension to their attacking play. "It’s a massive game ahead of us... we’ll have to stay focused until the very end," Bougherra warned at the press conference.

A formidable opponent and constant pressure

Facing a disciplined, experienced Iraqi side determined to secure top spot in the group, Algeria will need to show resilience, especially in defense where a few weaknesses have surfaced despite conceding just one goal. The Boulbina–Berkane duo, with four goals and two assists between them, will be a key weapon in this decisive clash. History isn't on the Greens’ side: seven friendly encounters and not a single Algerian victory, proof that Iraq regularly poses serious problems. A win would clinch first place in the group and set up a more favorable quarter-final against the runner-up from Group C.

TV channels, stakes, and possible scenarios

The match kicks off at 6:00 PM (Algerian time) and will be broadcast live on the following channels:

  • ENTV (terrestrial)
  • Al Kass One
  • beIN Sports Max 4

If Algeria loses, they’ll have to hope Sudan doesn’t beat Bahrain by a wide margin. It’s an unlikely scenario, but not impossible in a group stage that often defies expectations. The Greens are counting on their renewed momentum to send a strong message: that of a champion determined to defend their title all the way.
