Arsenal is set to miss out on signing another La Liga attacker

Arsenal are one of the clubs that have been pushing to add Ferran Torres to their squad this summer after he entered the final year of his contract at Barcelona.

The Spaniard has Premier League experience following his spell at Manchester City and had been tipped to join another club in England as he runs down his deal at Barcelona.

Arsenal were one of the clubs interested in a move for him as the Gunners looked for new names to add to their attack during this transfer window. Barcelona had been fighting to keep him and were hopeful that he would choose to stay and sign a new contract.

However, Barcelona are set to lose him, and Torres is not going to Arsenal.

Torres agrees PSG move

According to Fichajes, Torres has now agreed a deal on personal terms with PSG, with the Parisians moving ahead of Arsenal in the race to add him to their squad during this transfer window.

Torres has now agreed to move to Paris after taking some time to reflect on his future, leaving Arsenal to search for another attacking option.

The decision represents a setback for the Gunners, who had been interested in bringing the Spaniard back to the Premier League. His previous experience in England made him an appealing option, while his situation at Barcelona also created an opportunity for interested clubs.

Arsenal must find another target

With Torres now set to move to PSG, Arsenal will have to find another attacker to add to their squad this summer. The Gunners had identified the Spaniard as one of their options, but they must now turn their attention elsewhere.

They could consider another player from La Liga, with Nico Williams emerging as a potential alternative if Arsenal decide they want to continue searching for an attacker in Spain.

The Gunners will therefore need to reassess their attacking plans after missing out on Torres. While they had hoped to bring in the Barcelona forward, his decision to join PSG means Arsenal must now explore other possibilities before the transfer window closes.

Torres will instead continue his career in Paris, while Arsenal must identify another player who can strengthen their attack and fit into their plans for the upcoming season.
