Olympique de Marseille looked primed to once again benefit from on-loan Arsenal talent after Roberto De Zerbi's Les Phocéens jumped to a 2-0 lead against visiting Lens.
The French giant, looking to close the gap to Pierre Sage's second-sitting Les Sang et Or, broke the deadlock in just the third minute through Amine Gouiri.

And then, a special moment for Gunners starlet Ethan Nwaneri, who added their second in the 17th minute to double the lead.
Nwaneri, who is on loan at Orange Vélodrome for the remainder of the 2025/26 season after failing to feature regularly under Mikel Arteta, was gifted a starting role on the night and looks to have justified his selection already.
Marseille previously utilized an Arsenal youngster when deploying now leading Premier League and France international centre-back William Saliba during his own loan period along the Mediterranean coast during the 2021/22 season, which saw him win Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year honours, as well as being included in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year.
