Arthur moved to reassure Santos supporters after he came off with pain in the back of his right thigh during the 2-1 win at São Paulo at Morumbis on Friday. The midfielder struck an upbeat tone about his fitness, with assessment to follow.
According to Diario Do Peixe, the midfielder felt the issue early in the second half as he accelerated on an attack. He tried to continue, then signalled to the bench and was replaced by Gabriel Menino.
Arthur said it felt like cramp during a sprint and thinks it is not serious. He will undergo tests on Saturday or Sunday to determine whether there is any injury and its extent, or if it was only a scare.
He chose not to take risks and asked to come off to avoid aggravating the problem. Relying on his feel for his body, he remains confident it is nothing major.
Under Cuca he has started the last two league matches. Since joining Santos he has made six appearances and recorded one assist.
Arthur is a doubt to face Flamengo. Santos host them at Vila Belmiro on Thursday at 19:30 Brasília time in the 29th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, and his involvement will depend on the test results and his progress.
