Athletic imagery surfaced in Atlético de Madrid’s unveiling of their third kit, with up to four photos from the Bilbao club’s history visible on the set behind Koke and a model wearing the women’s-specific design.

According to El Correo, the detail is clearest in the captain’s portrait, where a framed backdrop includes three photographs, one capturing Piru Gainza on the shoulders of Eneko Arieta during Athletic’s 1958 Copa del Generalísimo celebrations linked to the Once Aldeanos side.

Another image features Paco Gento, the Real Madrid great and Marcos Llorente’s grandfather, pictured during a Madrid derby.

The model’s shot also contains Athletic references, including a cropped image from the 1958 Cup celebrations, a clipping from a Copa quarter-final between the two red-and-white teams, and a portrait of Dani Ruiz Bazán wearing the shirt in the 1980s.

On social media, many Atlético supporters questioned whether these inclusions were an oversight or a deliberate nod to the Bilbao club.
