Atlético Madrid are reportedly trying to edge out Juventus in the race to sign Olympique Lyonnais’ Nicolás Tagliafico (34), according to reports from journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Having already agreed to join the Turin club, subject to them finalising Juan Cabal’s (25) move to Atalanta, the Argentine full-back is also said to have given the green light to join the Colchoneros. Lyon, with whom Tagliafico remains under contract until June 2027, must now reach an agreement with one or other of his suitors to finalise the deal.
Having arrived in the Rhône region four years ago from Ajax, Tagliafico has established himself as a key member of Les Rouge et Bleu’s squad, for whom he has made 134 appearances (scoring nine goals and providing 13 assists) across all competitions. Having made 30 appearances last season, he rounded off his 2025-26 campaign with three assists.
An Argentine international with 83 caps, he was a key player in the Albiceleste’s World Cup victory in 2022 and was once again selected by Lionel Scaloni for this summer’s World Cup.
