Juventus have shown an interest in Olympique de Marseille’s Emerson Palmieri (32), according to information from Foot Mercato.
In their search for a new full-back, the Turin-based club are said to have made the Italian their top alternative should their deal with Olympique Lyonnais’ Nicolás Tagliafico (34) fall through due to the Argentine’s move to Atlético Madrid, a move to which he has also given the go-ahead.
However, no new signings are expected to be made by the Bianconeri before the departure of Juan Cabal (25), who has already reached an agreement with Atalanta.
As for Palmieri, the 32-year-old has qualities that appeal to Juve’s management. First and foremost is his extensive experience of top-flight football, having played for clubs including Chelsea and Lyon. His familiarity with Serie A, where he played for AS Roma, would also work in his favour.
Whilst nothing has been finalised as yet, the prospect of the full-back taking to the pitch at the Juventus Stadium this season is looking increasingly likely. And the next few hours of the transfer window could well confirm this trend.
