Real Madrid’s victory on Celta Vigo’s turf (2-1) continues to spark reactions in Spain. Amid his campaign for re-election as FC Barcelona president, Joan Laporta didn’t miss the chance to criticize the Madrid rivals after the decisive goal scored in stoppage time.

The Catalan leader believes that the play leading to Fede Valverde’s goal should have been disallowed for a prior foul.

“Real Madrid had their usual bit of luck yesterday. Real Madrid won last night thanks to a refereeing error,” he declared.

According to Laporta, such a decision wouldn’t have been possible if FC Barcelona had been involved.

“If it had been us, the goal would have been ruled out by VAR,” he insisted,

once again reigniting the debate over refereeing in La Liga.
