The brass at La Liga champions Barcelona have early this week rebuffed an offer for attacker Ferran Torres. This comes amid the ongoing efforts of European champions Paris Saint-Germain to bring the 26-year-old to Ligue 1.
Frontman Ferran is widely understood to have informed PSG over the last 48 hours of his intention to depart Barcelona for France’s capital this summer.
The board at the Parc des Princes, on Monday, therefore moved to hold up their side of the agreement courtesy of an opening proposal for his signature.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, the bid in question is understood to have totalled around €40 million. Despite Ferran’s contract terms being due to expire in the summer of 2027, though, Deco and his team of directors deemed this offer to be unsatisfactory.
Negotiations will therefore continue between the parties over the days ahead, with a view to finding common ground on a sum closer to €50 million.
When all is said and done, the expectation is that Ferran will pull on the colours of PSG before the summer window slams shut.
