La Liga giants Barcelona had an emerging hero to thank once again for their eventual victory over Racing Club on Thursday.
The player in question? Joan García.
Barcelona of course marked their return to action a short time ago, turning focus back towards matters in the Copa del Rey.
Amid the ongoing defence of their title, the Blaugrana were tasked with a trip to 2nd-tier outfit Racing Club.
The aforementioned Joan was for his part back in from the off for the fixture, after being rested in Barca’s Copa opener against Guadalajara.
And en route to an eventual 2-0 triumph for the visitors, the summer arrival in Catalunya’s capital proved himself nothing short of pivotal.
With Barcelona clinging to a one-goal advantage, Joan conjured up a number of crucial saves over the course of the 2nd-half.
One came as the most important of the bunch, as, deep into injury-time, with the scoreline still at 1-0, the 24-year-old produced a point-blank one-on-one stop to spare the blushes of Hansi Flick’s men.
Another stellar performance from a player who is fast establishing himself as one of the most vital figures in Barcelona’s star-studded squad.
