Barcelona star to reach Spain milestone against Croatia in UEFA Nations League | OneFootball

A number of Barcelona players are in action during the ongoing international break, and many of them will take to the pitch for their respective national teams on Tuesday. Spain are one of the sides in action, meaning the likes of Pau Cubarsi, Pedri and Lamine Yamal will be involved, while the same can also be said for Fermin Lopez.

After a very difficult summer, which saw him miss the 2026 World Cup due to injury, Fermin is ready to make his mark on the Spanish national team. He was an unused substitute in the weekend victory over England, although he is in line to play from the start when Croatia on the world champions at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan on Tuesday, as per Sport.

Fermin has played seven times for the Spain senior squad, with his only start coming in the 3-0 friendly victory over Serbia in March. Thus, he will make his first competitive start if he is named in Luis de la Fuente’s line-up against Croatia.

Fermin will hope to carry on Barcelona form

Fermin is one of several Barcelona players to have made an excellent start to the 2026-27 season. He’s accumulated four goals and two assists in seven appearances, so he will hope to carry that momentum on to the international season with La Roja. After a summer in which he missed out on becoming a world champion, he will be determined to make his mark on the national team, and this will be his best chance to do so.

From a Barcelona perspective, they will hope Fermin performs well for Spain, although their main concern will be that he avoids picking up any injuries. Eric Garcia has already been forced to return to Catalonia after suffering knee discomfort, and the club will be keen to avoid any more serious cases.
