Bayern Munich are considering a move for Nottingham Forest captain Morgan Gibbs-White, according to Alex Crook.

The Bavarians are reportedly ‘leading contenders’ for his signature this summer as Forest brace themselves for interest in the Englishman.

Gibbs-White has recorded a goal and two assists in five Premier League appearances this term, even though he hasn’t hit top form.

The 26-year-old has played a talismanic role for Forest since he joined the club in 2022, delivering 37 goals and 37 assists in 176 appearances so far.

He has always been destined for the top since he broke out at Wolverhampton Wanderers and is finally approaching his best level.

Tottenham Hotspur came close to signing him, but Gibbs-White turned them down to stay with Forest.

However, he might consider his time with the Tricky Trees at the end of this season, especially if a giant like Bayern comes calling.

Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis may put up a fight, but Bayern have the financial might and tenacity to close complicated deals.

Bayern have also been keen to shop in the English market in recent seasons, buying Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Luis Diaz from Premier League outfits.

Gibbs-White could be their next target, and he will likely jump at the chance to play with England international teammate Kane.

He can add even more firepower to an already devastating frontline that includes Ismael Saibari, Diaz, Olise, Kane, Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry and wonderkid Lennart Karl.

Gibbs-White’s versatility means he can play all across the frontline in Vincent Kompany’s 4-2-3-1 formation.

Besides Bayern, other clubs looking for a playmaker will join the race for his signature.

Chelsea were reportedly looking his way before turning to Morgan Rogers, and Liverpool could use his profile as Florian Wirtz has struggled to make his mark in England.

Gibbs-White could attract plenty of transfer interest this summer, but Bayern appears to lead the race.
