Bayern Munich have confirmed Raphaël Guerreiro will be out of the “coming games” after suffering an ankle ligament injury.
Guerreiro sustained the knock and had to be substituted early in Saturday’s 3-1 Bundesliga defeat to Stuttgart.
And while the full extent of the injury has not been revealed, an update from the club on Sunday confirmed that the Portugal international is set to miss Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final second leg with Real Madrid at the very least.
“FC Bayern will have to do without Raphaël Guerreiro in the coming games,” read the club’s statement on Sunday morning.
“The Portuguese suffered an ankle ligament and capsule injury during the Bundesliga game in Stuttgart (1:3) on Saturday. This was the result of an examination by the FC Bayern medical department. Guerreiro was substituted at VfB in the 17th minute.”
Leon Goretzka came off the bench to replace Guerreiro in midfield on Saturday, and the German international could be set to start at the Bernebéu.
