Another departure is on the horizon at FC Bayern. Felipe Chavez is set to be loaned out—several clubs are currently interested in the 19-year-old.
Felipe Chavez has been one of the pleasant surprises of FC Bayern’s preseason so far. Nevertheless, it appears the talented forward is set for a temporary departure from Munich. As FCBinside reported, the 19-year-old is expected to be loaned out to another club by Deadline Day.
According to information from Sky, there are already several concrete suitors for Chavez. Reportedly, VfL Wolfsburg, SC Paderborn, and Deportivo La Coruña are all interested in the German-Peruvian player. In addition, an unnamed Portuguese first-division club is said to have expressed interest as well.
Initial talks regarding a potential loan deal are already underway. For Bayern, the main priority is to find a club where Chavez can play regularly at a high level and continue his development.
In any case, a potential departure is unlikely to be due to a lack of self-promotion. Chavez managed to draw attention to himself on several occasions during preseason. He scored two goals in the 15-0 victory over FC Rottach-Egern. He also seized his opportunity during the Asian tour, scoring the opening goal for Bayern against Jeju SK.
Despite these performances, the competition in the professional squad is fierce. Especially on offense, coach Vincent Kompany has numerous established options at his disposal. For Chavez, another loan could therefore be the most sensible way to gain consistent playing time.
The youngster already gained experience outside of Munich during the second half of last season. At that time, he was loaned to 1. FC Köln. There, however, his playing time remained limited: Chavez came off the bench seven times and spent a total of just 108 minutes on the field. Cologne subsequently decided against exercising the agreed-upon purchase option.

After returning to Munich, Chavez showed significant improvement during preseason. So far, however, this has not earned him a permanent spot on the first team. Instead, another loan is now expected to follow.
Meanwhile, there are conflicting reports regarding the duration of the attacking player’s contract. In the summer of 2025, FC Bayern had merely announced that Chavez had “extended his contract long-term” without specifying an exact end date. While Transfermarkt.de lists the contract as running through 2027, Sky is now reporting a term extending through 2028.
In principle, the Munich club continues to plan for its homegrown talent. Chavez has been part of FC Bayern’s youth academy since the U15 level and made his Bundesliga debut last season under Kompany.
