Craig Bellamy has made his call on the Leeds United contingent for Wales’ final June friendly, with Ethan Ampadu, Joe Rodon and Dan James to start against Romania in Bucharest on Saturday evening. Goalkeeper Karl Darlow drops to the bench, with Danny Ward starting. Kick-off is 6.45pm at Stadionul Steaua.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Ampadu, Rodon and James keep their places, while Darlow makes way for Ward.
On Tuesday the same quartet started a 2-2 home draw with Ghana, while young full-back Jayden Lienou was an unused substitute.
All five Leeds players were named in Bellamy’s squad for the two June fixtures, with Lienou receiving his first senior call-up. This second match completes the June friendlies as Wales continue towards Euro 2028 qualifying.
Earlier this year Ampadu, Rodon, Darlow and James missed out on the World Cup after a penalty shootout defeat to Bosnia Herzegovina in March’s qualifying play-off final.
Leeds also have four players heading to the World Cup in Brenden Aaronson, Gabi Gudmundsson, Noah Okafor and Ao Tanaka, representing USA, Sweden, Switzerland and Japan.
