UEFA will distribute around 31.5 million euros this week to clubs that released players for the 2024/25 Nations League, won by Portugal, and Benfica will be the biggest beneficiary due to the number of call-ups, according to Glorioso 1904.

This is the first payment in the current Club Benefits Programme cycle, which totals 104 million euros for clubs providing players for the 2024/25 and 2026/27 Nations League editions, as well as Euro 2028 qualifying.

The distribution model is unchanged. Clubs are compensated based on the number of eligible players released and the matches they played, with 3,845 euros per player per match. In all, 611 clubs across UEFA’s member associations are covered.

Benfica supplied 11 players during the competition, the most among Portuguese sides. Other recipients include Sporting with 7, FC Porto 5, Farense 2, Famalicão 2, and one each for Aves SAD, Casa Pia, Boavista, Arcozelo and Marco.

Across Europe, Leipzig will receive the largest amount in this first tranche, about 353,000 euros, after releasing 16 players for the Nations League.
