Flamengo and Betano will celebrate the first anniversary of the most valuable sponsorship in Brazilian football history with a pre-match show at the Maracanã on Sunday 30 August. The celebration begins at 15:00 Brasília time, before Flamengo v Botafogo in round 25 of the Brasileirão at 16:00.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the festivities include a special performance by the traditional Charanga Rubro-Negra, led by samba singer Dudu Nobre. A 75-strong ensemble will play club classics, with 25 from the Charanga joined by 50 percussionists from Estação Primeira de Mangueira.

A standout moment will come as the teams emerge, when a coordinated effort between Betano, Flamengo and supporters will turn the stands into the largest three-dimensional mosaic yet staged at the arena. The image, uniquely printed, will measure 46m by 25m and promises to surprise the crowd.

Giant screens will run a tribute video to the most symbolic moments from the partnership’s first year, and the afternoon programme also includes fireworks.

The deal running from August 2025 to December 2028 is worth R$ 895 million, a little over €141.1 million, and could reach R$ 932.5 million with fixed and variable elements. That places Flamengo further clear of Corinthians, whose agreement with Esportes da Sorte is worth R$ 103 million a year.

Over the past year Betano has fronted the men’s, women’s and basketball shirts, appeared on the volleyball kit, and run activations on Flamengo TV on YouTube and across the club’s digital channels.
